Filipino Pork Steak is a delicious dish that is popular among Filipinos. This dish is commonly made with beef meat but as time goes by, pork steak become famous as well.
This popular Filipino recipe is commonly served in restaurants and carenderias just like other popular Pinoy foods like pork humba, lumpia shanghai, pork adobo and chicken curry.
Filipino Pork Steak Ingredients
Pork chops – You may use bone-in or no-bone pork chops
1 onion
garlic
water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Water and corn starch slurry
Marinade:
soy sauce
oyster sauce
ground black pepper
garlic powder
calamansi juice
How To Make Pork Steak Pinoy Style
Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, ground black pepper, garlic powder and calamansi juice or lime juice and marinate with the pork for 3 hours or overnight.
Saute onion in oil and set aside.
Saute pork until brown using the same pan. Remove pork and saute garlic. Put back the pork and pour in water and the marinade sauce. Cover and simmer until pork is tender and sauce is reduced. Add slurry to thicken the sauce. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with the pre-cooked onions and serve. Enjoy.
Tips for making Filipino Pork Steak
- Aside from pork chops, you may use pure lean meat from pork shoulders cut in thin slices to cook the meat faster.
- You may add msg if preferred.

- 6 slices Pork Chops
- 1 Onion sliced in rings
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon Corn Starch for slurry
For marinade
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons Calamansi or lime juice
