Pork Tinola with Sweet Corn and Potatoes. This hearty pork soup recipe is super delicious. The potatoes and sweet corn that goes with the pork is yummy.

1 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp ginger for sautéing
a thumb of ginger, chopped
1 medium sized onions
pinch of salt
pinch of ground pepper

How to Make Pork Tinola with Sweet Corn and Potatoes
This simple tinola is just quick and can be done within 30 minutes or less. First you have to saute the ginger, onion and garlic until translucent and aromatic in 2 tbsp cooking oil . Then add the pork ribs and sauté until pork ribs turn white. Add salt, pepper, vinegar and sauté until almost dry.
Add water then bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until pork is tender. Then add potatoes and sweet corn. Simmer for 10 minutes. Once Potatoes and sweet corn are cooked, add the pechay leaves. Simmer for 1-2 minutes and it is done.
What other alternative vegetables can be used in this Pork Tinola
Ideally, green papaya or chayote are the staples of tinola but I dont have them available as of this cooking. Chilli leaves is more appropriate as well but it is peachay that is available in my kitchen.

- Potatoes and corn – you may use green papaya, taro, string beans, ripe sliced cardava variety of banana
- Peachay – you have other alternative greens for this recipe. You may use water spinach, cabbage and chilli leaves

- 500 grams Pork
- 2 tbsp Cooking oil
- 1 thumb Ginger cleaned, chopped
- 1 medium sized Onions chopped
- 3 medium sized Potatoes cleaned and chopped
- 1 cob Sweet corn cut in desired sizes
- 1 tsp Vinegar You may substitute this with the juice of 2 pices calamansi
- pinch Salt
- pinch Pepper

- Heat cooking pan and sauté the ginger, onion and garlic until translucent and aromatic in 2 tbsp cooking oil.
- Then add the pork ribs and sauté until pork ribs turn white.
- Add salt, pepper, vinegar and sauté until almost dry.
- Add water then bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until pork is tender.
- Then add potatoes and sweet corn. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Once Potatoes and sweet corn are cooked, add the pechay leaves. Simmer for 1-2 minutes
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve. Enjoy.
