Ingredients
1kiloPork Hockscleaned and washed
1cupSoy sauce
1cupBrown Sugar
8clovesGarlicchopped
5tbspVinegar
3pcsBay Leaves
1tspWhole Peppercorn
1/2cupDried Banana Blossomyou may use dried lily flowers as substitute
pinchSalt
5cups Water
Instructions
In a cooking pot, put water, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorn together with the pork hocks.
Bring it to a boil and remove scum that float.
Add in the soy sauce. Let it boil for 1-2 hours until pork becomes tender.
Put in the sugar and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add in the vinegar and dried banana blossom and simmer for 3 minutes or until desired thickness of the sauce is achieved.
Taste the sauce and add a pinch of salt if needed.
Transfer to a serving plate and serve. This is perfectly complemented with steamed rice. Enjoy!
