- 2 cups Squid cleaned and cut into rings
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Cooking oil for deep frying
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
Clean the squid. Remove its ink and clean the the body of the squid. Once cleaned, cut it into rings and pour some lemon juice into it and set aside.
Mix flour with garlic powder, salt and paprika in one bowl and put milk in another bowl.
Soak the squid/calamari in the milk then dredge it into the flour mixture. Deep-fry the squid in cooking oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove it from the frying pan using slotted ladle and place in a plate with paper towel to remove excess oil. Transfer to a serving plate and serve with a tomato-based sauce of your preference.
- You may use buttermilk to soak the squid if preferred.
