Home-made Pork Tocino (Filipino Sweet Cured Pork) is a Filipino favorite breakfast staple. It is perfect for Tosilog (tocino, fried rice and egg).

  • 500 grams Pork Shoulder Cut into thin slices
  • 6 tbsp Tocino mix
  • 1/2 cup White sugar you may also use honey as substitute
  • 1/2 cup Sprite
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Oyster sauce
  • pinch Salt


Making the Pork Tocino

  • Prepare the pork.  Slice it thinly.
  • In a mixing bowl, put in the pork and the rest of the other ingredients.
  • Put it in food container and place inside the freezer.

Cooking the Tocino

  • Place the tocino in a frying pan and simmer until its stock or sauce is reduced. 
  • Once the sauce caramelizes, put a little bit of cooking oil like 1-2 tablespoons. 
  • Fry it until sauce becomes sticky  that it clings with the meat.  Transfer to a serving plate and serve.
